Privacy Policy

1What this covers
This policy describes how Capitol Gains handles information when you use our website and services. It does not apply to the congressional trade data we publish — that data is drawn entirely from public government filings, not from anything you provide us.
2Information we collect
Account information. If you create an account or subscribe to a paid tier, we collect your email address and, for paid subscriptions, billing information processed by our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers ourselves).
Usage data. We collect standard web analytics — pages visited, general location (city/region level), device and browser type, and referring site — to understand how the Service is used and to improve it.
Alert and Connect tier configuration. If you configure email alerts or Connect tier webhooks, we store the thresholds and endpoint URLs you set so we can deliver the data events you've requested.
3Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember basic preferences (like sort order on the signal feed). We use analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage patterns. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites, and we do not sell cookie data to advertisers.
4How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate your account and process subscription billing
- Deliver alerts and Connect tier webhook events you've configured
- Understand aggregate usage to improve the Service
- Respond to support requests
- Comply with legal obligations
5What we don't do
We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or advertisers. We do not use your account activity to build advertising profiles. We do not share your email or billing information with third parties except the payment processor needed to run your subscription and infrastructure providers needed to operate the Service (e.g., hosting, database).
6Data retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, tax, or dispute-resolution purposes.
7Your choices
You can access, update, or delete your account information at any time through your account settings, or by contacting us. You can unsubscribe from email alerts or delete Connect tier webhook configurations at any time.
8Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date above.
